R L Wilson, P.C.

State and Federal Litigation

While we recognize that litigation is often a zero-sum game, resolution of all legal disputes does not need to be. Our firm advocates resolution through negotiation, as we strive to never cut what we can untie. When litigation is inevitable, however, we are in it to win. After all, we firmly believe the ancient maxim that "the sword of Justice has no scabbard".

Civil litigation is the cornerstone of the firm's practice, and we have served as counsel in a diverse array of cases across the State. We consistently represent both plaintiffs and defendants, and have achieved admirable litigation results with cost efficient strategies. All told, Mr. Wilson has successfully recovered and defended claims worth millions of dollars in the aggregate.

A representative sampling of our litigation practice encompasses almost every type of dispute imaginable. Some of the more memorable cases involved the following matters:

  • Defended governmental entity's refusal to sell surplus real property to developer;
  • Defended challenge of water utility's rate increase by municipality;
  • Challenged violations of Texas Open Meetings Act by school district;
